Extra Information
DIET
There are some Birkeys that are herbivores but very few. Most of them are omnivores. The graze on native grass and some small animals. Larger male are carnivorous. They prey on bigger animals including leopards, wart hogs and other large game.
Attack Methods
The Birkey has 5 long sharp claws. They retract after attacks for better aerodynamics. To kill the large game, the Males claw at the prey until they become weak. Then they drag in around until it dies. The herbivores just graze on native grass.
Predators
Lions pose a big threat to the Birkey. At night when the Birkey is sleeping, the lion is very stealthy. They have to be on watch 24/7. They have even adapted to sleeping with one eye open.
