Roynon Raccoon Report
August Newsletter All About Roynon
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!
On behalf of the Roynon team, I welcome you to Roynon Elementary and the 2019-2020 school year! We are happy that you are a part of our school community. At Roynon, we our committed to our district’s goal of preparing every student to live their purpose through our core values of equity, mastery, and focus on results. We acknowledge that education is a collaborative process that involves the entire community. Together, we can provide a strong academic foundation while providing opportunities for growth in all areas of development.
Every school year brings its own unique excitement. We are especially excited about this year, as we are officially a Leader in Me school. Leader in Me provides our school with the vision and language to lead the school in a way that addresses all areas of development; academic as well as social-emotional. The 2019-2020 school year will mark year 1 of a 3 year implementation of this outstanding social-emotional learning program. As leaders, our students will become active, engaged partners in their own education and their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative will grow. We are eager to see our students begin to understand the benefits of different gifts and talents; learn to listen to new ideas, work together to achieve results, and motivate one another to be the best. Towards the end of this newsletter you will find more information and resources about Leader in Me. I encourage you to explore them and partner with us as we strive to bring out the leader in all of our raccoons.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, August 22nd at 5:30pm for our Back to School Night.
I am confident that the 2019-2020 school year will be one filled with WIGS (Wildly Important Goals) for our students. I invite you to play an active role in your child’s learning. I encourage you to proactively communicate with staff and allow us to work together to meet your child’s needs. Thank you in advance for all you do to support your child’s education.
