Drop Everything and Read!
The Public Schools of Robeson County is promoting D.E.A.R. Day on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this event where we Drop Everything And Read. To make it easier for everyone, there is not a set time during the day. All you have to do is select a 30 minute period of time during the hours of 8:00 am to 8 pm, drop everything you are doing and just read without interruptions. You can read whatever material you desire or have at hand: a book, newspaper, magazine, recipes, etc.
All family members are invited to be involved in this DEAR event. Studies have shown that reading at least thirty minutes uninterrupted everyday greatly improves literacy. Establishing a DEAR time with your family would be beneficial to everyone involved. Once you have been doing it for a while, you will come to realize how relaxing it is and it is boosting your literacy at the same time.
Have FUN and please take pictures of this event and upload them on our St. Pauls High School Facebook page!
