Meal packs are free for any child younger than 19 as well as those older than 19 who utilize special education resources or who are enrolled in school to complete the requirements for a high school diploma.
Free caregiver meals, prepared by local restaurants, are also available for the adults accompanying children or with documentation of those that they are picking meals up for. Caregiver meals are made possible through funding from the City of Austin and the AISD Crisis Support Fund, established by the Austin Ed Fund.
Parents or caregivers may receive meal packs without children present by providing documentation — such as a birth certificate, student ID card, report card, or attendance record — at the point of meal service. Children do not have to be enrolled in AISD to receive meals.
Meals are served curbside, families are advised to stay in their cars and not enter buildings during meal pick up. Families who come by walking/biking/transit may still receive food outside the campuses. Curbside meals are chilled and served cold to be taken home and reheated.
Meals for children and caregivers are available until all packages are distributed.
Curbside meal sites are subject to change due to facility conditions.
Families may visit austinisd.org for information on food, water, and other resources or text FOOD to 512-886-6434 to find AISD curbside meal sites in their area

Love Yourself First Week! and Sharing Love with Others-- week of March 1st
This week was originally intended to celebrate Valentines Day's week, but since school was canceled, we thought spreading LOVE is what we all need more than anything right now in our lives! We know this has been a difficult few weeks, and we want everyone to feel the love and continue spreading it within our community.
This week at O. Henry we want students to celebrate things they love about themselves and understand by how taking care of oneself first helps us be better to others around us. We also know that student's feeling good about themselves, this idea of self-worth and embracing your individuality, creates more success for them at school.
❤️Wear Pink on Wednesday!- Pink is the color of self-love and we encourage all students and staff to wear pink on Wednesday, March 3rd.
❤️#dearself posters- Students can be on the lookout for positive messages put up around the school to inspire them to look at themselves, their unique gifts, and why they are important and deserve love. Thank you to NJHS students for creating these inspiring messages!
❤️Check out the Counseling Blend page to learn more about why it is important to Love Yourself First, then take the 7 day Love Yourself First Challenge! You must be logged into the portal to access this website: Click here!
❤️Showing Kindness to our teachers- In honor of Random Acts of Kindness Day this month, our NJHS students have written ❤️felt messages to their teachers thanking them for their time and devotion during this challenging year for all.
❤️ACES activities- Students will be engaging in activities with an emphasis on complimenting yourself and others and positive self-talk.

Peru Trip- June 2022
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Did you know that Ms. Dillenberger will be offering an educational student trip to Peru in June of 2022? This educational tour includes visits to Lima and Cuzco! Students will visit museums, participate in workshops, explore Machu Picchu, and much more! The trip also includes two days of service-learning supporting local communities in the Sacred Valley. Ms. Dillenberger and her travel team will be offering a virtual meeting on Thursday, February 18 at 6:00 to provide more information! RAVE: Recognizing All Valuable Employees
Parents, are you looking for a way to give back to teachers and staff at O. Henry Middle School?
RAVE: Recognizing All Valuable Employees
Let's send some sparkly gratitude to our faculty & staff this holiday season with an AISD RAVE submission!
- Does your student have a favorite teacher?
- Has someone at O. Henry (or any other AISD School) gone above and beyond for you and your family?
- Do you want to support teachers and let everyone (Teacher, Principal, AISD District) know about it?
All of our faculty and staff have gone above and beyond this semester. The best free, easy, sparkly way to show our gratitude is via the RAVE form on the AISD website (link below.) It only takes a couple of minutes to complete!
This form is received by AISD administration. RAVE submissions mean a lot to teachers and staff. It's equivalent to a virtual hug! And, there's never been a better time to remind the Superintendent how indispensable they all are.
Please submit a RAVE for any teacher or staff member (current or from school years past.)
Maybe send one or two a day! You do need the first and last name of the employee you wish to RAVE about. Those can be sourced on O. Henry's Staff Directory :
Flooding AISD administration with positive feedback will make an important and lasting impact. Let's make this holiday season sparkle a little extra with RAVES!
