Student Orientation and Back To School Information Meetings
We are so excited to welcome our Coogs back to campus soon! You and your family might have questions or just want to see our campus, and we have planned some events to go through back-to-school information and answer any questions you may have as you return to campus. Counselors will be available at these parent and guardian meetings to address the anxiety that might be coming up for your child and family about returning back to campus. Please feel free to choose the parent/guardian event that best suits your schedule, as the information presented will be the same at each session. Additionally, backpacks will be available at each of the events below while supplies last.

First Day of School Information
The week of August 2nd, you will receive a copy of the courses your child is currently enrolled in for you to review. If a change is needed, submit a course change request by Monday August 9. Please reach out to your child’s counselor via email, phone or see them in person August 3 & 4 8:30a-5:30p or Aug 5 1p-8p
A few days before school starts, we will email detailed instructions guiding parents and students through the first day of school.
By Monday August 16th, you will be able to view the unofficial class schedule in the Frontline tile of the AISD Parent Cloud (Course tiles will be visible to students in BLEND on the first day of school). We advise you to review your child’s schedule (room location & class periods) in the evening of Monday August 16.

Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Crockett ECHS
AISD’s goal is to get as many students vaccinated as possible before the new school year.
The COVID-19 vaccine pop-up clinics are open to students, staff, family/community members
ages 12 and older and do not require registration. As we near the start of the school year, there are several vaccination opportunities (Pfizer) is available around Austin ISD for anyone who qualifies for and still needs and wants to be vaccinated. The following is a clinic at Crockett available for qualifying members in our school community:
Crockett ECHS: Wednesday, August 4th, from 3:00 - 7:00pm in the Crockett Cafeteria
Every individual receiving a vaccine needs to have a completed consent form. Ages 12-17 will need to have their form signed by their parent/guardian, in advance, if their parent/guardian will not be able to join them at the clinic. This information and form can be found in the sign up link.
Parents accompanying their children will need to verify the child's age. This can be done by bringing a birth certificate, passport, vaccination record, prescription in their child’s name, anything with a birthday works. Verbal confirmation of age will suffice as well.
Additional information regarding Austin ISDs vaccines clinics can be found here.
We welcome you to take advantage of this opportunity.
Thank you!

AISD Back to School Vaccine Clinics
Austin ISD is hosting a vaccine clinic at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center (1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd, Austin, TX 78723) from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. Families whose students have special needs will receive their information in person from their bus teams starting the second week of August.
COVID Safety Protocols -
We recognize that cases of COVID are increasing and continue to take the situation very seriously. I sincerely wish things were different going into this school year. Here are some of the ways we will be keeping students and staff safe during this time:
The CDC recommends everyone wear masks indoors. We will be encouraging an indoor mask-wearing culture. Please talk with your students about your wishes for mask wearing.
We also recommend getting vaccinated. All of our students and staff are eligible for vaccination.
All classrooms will have assigned seating. In addition, students will report where and with whom they each lunch with to make any potential need for contact tracing possible.
We will continue to encourage outdoor learning. Our outdoor spaces will be available for students during lunch.
Families with special health problems could qualify for a Home Learning Program. Please click here to learn more.

School Supplies
Stop! Don’t buy school supplies yet. Your teachers will let you know what is needed for their class. We would like students to come to school the first day with a backpack, writing utensil, and a chromebook (Chromebook information for students new to Crockett will be coming soon). The good news is that you can hopefully hit up all the sales :)
As previously stated, backpacks will be given away at the new student orientation and back to school information meetings listed above.
Crockett Communication
The Crockett Cougar Chatter is our monthly newsletter that includes important dates, events, and information with our families. Each edition of the newsletter is emailed to students’ school and families’ emails and is available on the Crockett website at www.crocketths.org and on our Twitter account @AustinCrockett.
A Message Regarding Crockett ECHS PTSA -
In the past, our PTSA has been essential in planning school community events, celebrating student success, campaigns for school and campus improvements, and co-sponsors our Staff Appreciation Week. As we begin this school year, we are looking for members of our Crockett Community to become members of our PTSA (membership information coming soon) and serve as board members of the Crockett ECHS PTSA. If you are interested in becoming a member or serving on the board, please fill out this FORM.

What is an Educational Suitability Assessment (ESA)?
“An educational suitability assessment is a process used to determine and score how well each campus supports the needs of their specific school, such as current teaching and learning methods, and academic programming. It considers the exterior, general building, security, environmental quality, controllability of lighting and HVAC systems, furniture, fixtures and equipment, academic spaces, support spaces, technology, and administration spaces.
What is a Facility Condition Assessment (FCA)?
“A Facility Condition Assessment evaluates the physical condition of a facility and determines elements at that facility that do not function as intended. This includes components such as roofing, heating and air conditioning, plumbing and site drainage.”
Free Meals for All Through the 2021-22 School Year
- AISD will provide free meals for all students through June 2022.
- Meals are free for all students regardless of income, or without any application or documentation.
- At AISD, we encourage all students to take advantage of free school meals. As a federally funded program, we receive reimbursement for each meal served; the more students who eat with us the more funding we have to invest in the quality of our food, maintain local jobs, and support the Texas economy
- For more information visit the Austin ISD website https://www.austinisd.org/nutrition-food-services/meal-programs
