OTSEGO LOCAL SCHOOLS
Superintendent's Weekly Update - September 10th
Schools all across Ohio are facing a shortage of teacher, student aide, bus driver, custodial, and food service substitutes. We definitely fall into this category. If you are between jobs, retired, stay-at-home parent, or looking for a job and would be interested in being a substitute at Otsego please email or call me. To be considered for a substitute teacher you need a 4-year degree and a high school diploma for all other substitutes needed in the district. The process is pretty simple and we could get you started in a short period of time. Let me know if you are interested!
Custodial Position Available:
Custodian - 40 hours per week
Anyone interested should email a letter of interest to the superintendent's office, Attn: Lisa Austin.

Free and Reduced Application – We still need you to fill out a free and reduced application if you qualify. This is VERY important for a lot of different reasons. There is a very convenient way to fill this out online. https://www.lunchapplication.com/.
Please fill this out if you were free or reduced last year or your circumstances have changed and you think you qualify. If you qualify, you may be allowed to waive other fees throughout the year. It is very important that this gets filled out ASAP.

Safe School Helpline
Dear Parents, Students and Friends,
Recent polls show that parents’ first concern about schools today is their child’s safety. That is my concern as well. Fortunately, the Otsego is very safe. However, no community is immune from the threats of violence and drugs that endanger public schools nationwide.
We are introducing a Safe School Helpline® to help prevent such actions. It is designed to assist you in reporting any wrongdoing that impacts our schools, our students, or our staff – anonymously, so as to protect your privacy. For example, you may wish to report acts of violence, theft, drug or alcohol use, weapons, or sexual harassment.
Just call from a touch-tone phone to 1-800-4-1-VOICE, ext. 359 (418-6423) to leave your information. Or TEXT: 614-426-0240 Then type: TIPS Your message will not be traced, and you will not be identified. The Safe School Helpline® team will transcribe and fax your message to school officials, so appropriate action can be taken.
Thank you for your continued support to provide a better education for all Otsego students.
