Week 9 - 10/25/2018: Monthly PBIS focus is SAFETY
It's only Thursday, but there is so much to share and I'm out the next two days so I thought I'd get this to you early!
First - I know there are questions about costumes for Halloween so hopefully this will answer them:
* Costumes are allowed at all grade levels. Kinders typically do a parade at the end of the day.
* Costume rules - no masks, no weapons, no excessive gore. Hats, wigs, and other accessories are ok as long as they don't interfere with the student being able to do schoolwork during the day and the child can participate in recess and PE.
* if you have questions, ASK FIRST!
We do have an assembly that day - "Nothing is Impossible" Rap! This sounds really fun and is sponsored in part by our library and our PTO! K-2 will be at 8:00 AM and 3-6 will be at 9. Parents are welcome if you would like to come!
Picture retakes are November 1st! This is the last chance, so please be sure your child knows if you want their picture taken that day. Also, if you are a volunteer and didn't get your photo taken yet, please feel free to come in that day and have your photo taken for a badge.
Do you want your child to have a chance to play basketball and have FUN!! Little Dribblers is a great opportunity to do just that and it's AFFORDABLE!! I'm waiting on the flyer, but it starts in January and is on Saturday mornings. The cost is only about 35.00 and if you need help with that, I'm there! The location is Evergreen Middle School. This is an awesome opportunity and I want your child to participate!! I'll send out the sign up form as soon as I get it.
We are still in need of volunteers for our Right Brain Residency! Please use the following link to sign up! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040b4caca92aa64-right
You may know that our own Brenda Bottema has a non-profit which helps hundreds of families during the holiday season with food, toys, gift cards, utility bills, and more! If you are willing and able to help, there are several ways you can do so!

Conferences are coming up FAST! If you haven't had a chance to sign up for a slot, be sure to call the office and get some time scheduled ASAP!
Finally, I'm out the next two days and won't have access to phone or email, so if you need a response right away, please call our school counselor, Mrs. Clayton, or Mrs. Ulrey in the office.
This also means there is NO CHOIR Thursday, 10/25.
Don't forget there is no school next Friday as it is the end of the 1st Quarter. WHAT????!!
No new pics this week, my apologies!
