HFRCS Newsletter SY2021-2022
March 1, 2022 - Vol.1 Issue 28
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Tomorrow we begin the holy season of Lent. The school Ash Wednesday Mass will be held at 10:00 AM tomorrow. The imposition of ashes will take place during Mass. Please join us if your schedule permits. Throughout the sacred time of Lent, our school will be focusing on prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We will also be praying the Stations of the Cross each Wednesday afternoon. Please consider some special sacrifice or act of service that your family can do this Lent.
Effective Friday, February 25, the CDC lifted the Federal Requirement of masks on public transportation. Students will no longer be required to wear a mask while riding school district buses to and from school.
This Friday, March 4, there will be NO SCHOOL for students as school will be closed so that our school community can be available to attend the Funeral Mass for Danica Mulholland. The Mass will be held at 10:30 AM at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with two hours of viewing prior to the Mass, beginning at 8:30 AM. If students plan to attend the funeral with their families, we suggest that they wear their winter uniform, as a sign of support and so that the Mulholland family can easily recognize the classmates of Danica.
Due to school being closed on Friday, all Terra Nova tests will be administered the week of March 7-11. Please be sure that students get a good night's rest and eat a healthy and nourishing breakfast. All testing takes place in the morning. It is very important that students in Grades 2-7 are present for Terra Nova testing.
This Sunday, March 6, our school will be OPEN for our annual Open House! The Open House is scheduled from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Please come and see the school, the work displayed, and bring a friend or family member who may be interested in our school! Just a reminder that we do have our HFRCS Referral Program where current families will receive $200 tuition credit when they refer a family who enrolls in our school!
May God continue to bless our school community and let us as a faith family pray for peace in our world.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

Message from the Nurse's Office
Medication
- Medication will be administered to students only when failure to take the medication will jeopardize the health of the student, or the student would not be able to attend school if it is not administered.
- Prescription medication must be sent in the original pharmaceutical container and accompanied by a physician’s order to take the medication during the school day.
- Over-the-counter medications, which are not listed on the student’s emergency card, will not be administered unless they are in their original container and accompanied by a physician’s order to take the medication during school hours.
- If a child is to self-administer a medication during the school day, for example, an inhaler, written permission from the child’s physician is necessary.
- All medicines, prescription or over-the-counter, must be brought to school by the parent/guardian and not sent to school with the student or they will not be administered. This includes such things as Tylenol, cough drops, Tums, etc. The nurse has the responsibility of administering all medications.
