PE Volunteers
From Coach Summers:
I would really appreciate your time and support to copy papers, file papers, create bulletin boards, and organize equipment. I also need volunteers for the Field Day, “Kids Heart Challenge”, and ”5th Grade Turkey Shoot” events.
If you would like to volunteer, please email me your contact information at kelli.summers@fcps.org. Thank you for your consideration in advance.
Contact Tracing and Quarantining
In collaboration with the Frederick County Health Department, we will continue utilizing contract tracing and quarantining this year as part of our mitigation strategies against COVID-19. Individuals who are determined to have been within six feet of a person with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 for 15 minutes or longer WITHOUT a mask or within three feet of a person with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 for 15 minutes or longer WITH a mask will be considered close contacts. Close contacts will be required to quarantine at home for at least 7-14 days unless the close contact has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days and remains asymptomatic.
Asynchronous Access during Quarantine
The COVID-19 response plan will continue to require students to isolate or quarantine following a positive test or exposure to a positive or probable case. These will be considered excused absences. With the return to schools operating at full capacity, students who are at home in isolation or quarantine will be accessing their instruction asynchronously through Schoology.
Updating Information for Students
Parents/guardians received an email from FCPS NoReply. This email provided instructions on how to use the secure online portal to provide updated student information for the coming school year. This online process replaces the paper Student Information Cards of the past.
When you receive this important email, please take a few minutes to review and complete the online form as soon as possible.

Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival- Students can begin to arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 am. For the safety of our students, students cannot be permitted in the building prior to 8:30 am. Instruction begins promptly at 9:00 am.
Walkers are asked to enter the building at the Kindergarten doors. Car riders should be dropped off in the back lot in the car rider loop between 8:30-9:00 am. Please remain in a single file line.
Dismissal- Walkers and car riders will be dismissed at 3:30 pm. Walkers exit from the main entrance while car riders are dismissed in the back of the school. Students will wait inside the school in the gym. Please remain in your vehicle while waiting in the car rider loop.
Car rider pick up will be in two waves in order to minimize traffic on Main Street. If you have multiple children at MYES, please arrive at 3:30. If you have only one child, please arrive at 3:40. Your adherence to these times will greatly support our school dismissal- thank you in advance. MYES will continue to use the hang tag system. Former families, please use the tags issued to you previously. If you have need hang tags, email marsha.meredith@fcps.org.
If there is a change in the way that your child travels home from school, please send a note that morning to inform the school of the change or complete the online google form: click here. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. This enables us to ensure that all students arrive safely at their final destination.
Food and Nutrition Services
Frederick County Public Schools, Food and Nutrition Services announces participation in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) for the 2021-2022 school year. SSO is part of the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Program and has been approved by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to allow all children enrolled at Frederick County Public Schools to receive meals for free.
We encourage families to complete the free and reduced-price meal benefits application even though all children receive meals at no charge because the USDA provides funds that support the nutrition program based on your child’s eligibility. Eligibility for free or reduced-price meal reimbursement is based on the following annual income eligibility guidelines effective from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. Free and reduced-price meal benefits are available at all Frederick County Public Schools. Online and printable applications can be found at www.fcps.org/meals.
To reduce the number of close contacts and potential exposure, parents will not be allowed to visit in the lunchroom. We will monitor health metrics and school data and share when this restriction can be lifted.
MYES Vision Statement
