Claires Court Bulletin

I have been completely overwhelmed by the messages, written or personally expressed from parents, past and present, from the boys and the staff, all this week leading up to my retirement. Yesterday, Thursday, was a day I shall not forget and I only wish I could thank everyone personally for their incredible generosity, but I hope parents and pupils read this and accept my heartfelt thanks.

This week has seen examples of some of the very best that the school and pupils can produce. The Concerts on Tuesday were outstanding examples of what the pupils and staff, working together, can produce and I am immensely proud that I have been part of such events for the past 25 years. And I shall miss them. I am incredibly pleased and proud to have worked with such excellent staff over these years and they are, by and large, all remaining. With the leadership of Mr Spanswick, for whom I have huge respect, I am confident that the boys will be in the very best of hands over the coming years. Once again - thank you, and good luck to all the pupils, families and staff of Claires Court Junior Boys, Ridgeway.

Could we remind families that they should be sure to remove all personal belongings from the School premises at the end of term. This enables us to do a thorough clean and reduces the amount of lost property left.

Please put your money in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and class and indicate how many DVDs you require.

Please complete the Parental Questionnaire by Monday 1 September. Many thanks for your time and feedback.

It has been another busy term for the House Captains collecting the weekly house points and encouraging their Houses in the swimming gala, examinations, house matches, chess and Sports Day. The eventual winners of the Summer Term were Cliveden.

Having been the winners in both the Autumn and Lent Terms and a close second in the Summer Term, the overall winners of the House cup this year are Dorney. Congratulations to House Captain Byron Ewing and Vice captain Alfie Mifsud and all in the yellow house.

Our Rabbit Awards this week are awarded to Lewis Fletcher (5Y) and Henry Yeulett (1G) for their kindness and for following ‘Our Golden Rules’ so well over the last week of school. Well done boys.

In September Mrs Whiteley, our swimming teacher, will be available to give private swimming lessons to members of families associated with Claires Court Junior Boys. These lessons will be available during the week. If you feel this would be something you would like to do please contact the ladies in the school office who will register your interest and give you further information when available.
