2nd Nine Weeks - Heat Transfer and Force
Conduction, Radiation, and Convection
This nine weeks we did several projects to help us understand what conduction, convection and radiation are as well the differences between them.
Conduction is the transfer of heat between two objects through direct contact.
Convection is the transfer of heat through air or liquid in a current (hot rises and cool sinks).
Radiation is the transfer of heat in waves through empty space.
We are affected everyday by heat transfer!

Force and Motion
These two words are in constant action all around us! When objects are at rest they are experiencing balanced forces but when objects are in motion the forces are unbalanced.
We experimented with these ideas and made cars, catapults, planes to help us understand the principles associated with force and motion.
