COVID-19 Closure Update for OPS
Good afternoon, Otsego families,
In our morning call with local superintendents and the health department, no new information was obtained in regards to cases of COVID-19 in the county. Much of our conversation surrounded next steps in light of the Governor's anticipated order for schools.
You have probably watched the video I created this morning, which was shared with families, staff and students. My goal in creating this video was to connect with you on a personal level knowing it may prompt additional questions. It has been my commitment to provide all of you with the latest information I have during this unprecedented time. We do expect to have some answers to your questions in the executive order and will pass those along as we receive them. I’m extremely proud of our team as we have been consistently working throughout this closure on distance learning plans, goals, and what school will look like for next year.
As we move forward in the next few days and weeks, please know that every single child across this state is in the same boat as our students. Please don’t worry about your child regressing with their learning as our staff will do an awesome job of meeting them where they are, when we return to school. We can’t thank you enough for partnering with us in helping your child. Encourage your child to continue their learning but more importantly make sure they are feeling connected and loved. That is the most important thing.
In closing, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts during this time. Together, we will get through this.
