From the Principal

Dear Parents:

Another four day week is in the books for our Colts. We will be back on a full schedule next week. I hope you enjoyed your four day weekend. Last Friday, our staff participated in a training session pertaining to technology and personalized learning. It was such a fantastic experience. We have really enjoyed having the three professional development days this year that were applied for through our School Governance Council.

We are still in need of parents to volunteer for Career Day which is being held on Friday, January 27th. We are always fortunate to have great parent participation. This year we are having a few struggles filling some gaps. I am asking you to please consider a friend, relative, or community member you might know and point them in our direction soon! Thanks so much for your assistance as we hope to finalize plans early in the week.

We want to wish our home team, the Atlanta Falcons, much success heading into the playoffs this weekend!

Career Day Volunteers Needed!

Career Day will be on Friday, January 27 from 8:00-10:30 AM. We need volunteers to present about their career for approximately 25 minutes to a few classrooms. A light breakfast and refreshments will be served at 8:00 and presentations will begin at 8:30. By filling out this form, you are committing to the two hour time frame of 8:30-10:30. You will not be presenting for the full two hours, unless that is your request. I will send out a presentation schedule as we get closer to the event. Please sign up below to let us know about your career. We look forward to seeing you on Career Day!

Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey was included in several issues of our newsletter last fall and 126 parents have completed it to date. We strongly encourage all parents to participate because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating.

The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The URL address for the Georgia Parent Survey is posted below.
