Fire Safety Program!

October is National Fire Prevention Month

This program will provide great information to students about fire safety — as it relates in their own homes, in the community, and in the wilderness.

Include the following information in your emailed RSVP:

- Student name, grade, teacher's name

- Adult chaperone's name

- Number of additional children or adults

- Is this your first school year at PA Virtual?

- Any serious allergies or medical conditions that I should be reminded about?


10:45 AM Arrival and Sign In

11:00 AM Fire Station Tour and Lesson from Fire Fighters

12:30-1:30 PM Develop Plan of Action for home in case of emergency. We will also eat lunch at this time.

**Please bring a bagged lunch**

Learning Objectives

  • learn about the work of a firefighter and their role in the community
  • learn about the firefighters' clothes and equipment
  • learn about the basic components of heat, smoke, gasses and flames
  • learn about the importance of early detection, quick reporting and escape
  • learn about the causes of arson and its impact on the community
  • Develop a plan of action to take home and practice in case of a fire in their home


* An adult chaperone must stay on-site for all PA Virtual events.

* Shoes must be worn at all times.

* All PA Virtual events are smoke-free.

* Pets should never be brought to PA Virtual events.

* To limit the spread of possible flu, please do not attend a PA Virtual event if you have had a fever within 24 hours of the event.

* In consideration of our students with allergies, please refrain from bringing balloons or food containing nut products.
