Message from the Principal

Dear Advantage Arts Family,

Thank you for helping out with our parent-teacher conferences last week. There was a great turnout, and a special thank you to the parents who helped out with the teacher dinner on Wednesday. We have an amazing Advantage Arts Academy family!

I thought I would share some helpful tips, as we move into Springtime. There are colds and allergies that might make your student not feel well. Please know they are always welcome to come to the front office to call home. In connection with our cell phone policy, it is helpful when we know students are calling home, so we can have them ready for you in the office. When they are sick and call from the classroom, we are unable to help them while they wait for parents/guardians. They would be much more comfortable in the office/sickroom.

Here are a couple of things we will try before we call home:

1. Get a drink of water

2. Rest for a few minutes

3. Take temperature

4. Possibly offer a snack

Students will need to go home if they:

1. Vomit

2. Fever

3. Diarrhea

Please remember all of our students have the option to call home.

Mr. Kano

Thank you so much for all of your support! Our Library wouldn't be as amazing as it is without the support of our incredible students, our amazing staff and administration and most importantly without the support of our FANTASTIC PARENTS! Thank you all for helping up build our library into a magical place with so many options and possibilities!

Big picture

Center Stage

Kindergarten Rainbows

In Kindergarten, students learned about the primary colors and how to make the secondary colors. They mixed their own colors of paint to paint all of the colors of the rainbow. They loved getting to see how the colors changed as they mixed the primary colors together.

3rd Grade Totem Poles

In third grade, students have been making an animal out of paper to represent themselves on a class totem pole. Students thought of a symbolic animal then used scrap papers to cut out different shapes to represent their animal. Their animals will be stacked up on each other to create totem poles for their class. We can't wait to see the final result!

5th Grade Civil War Quilt

In fifth grade students learn about the Civil War. We are working to make a "quilt" out of paper squares that students decorated to represent an important person or event from the Civil War. Then we will put them all together to create a quilt-like installation.
