Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter
January 27, 2023
Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders!
Dear Pleasant Valley Families,
Our Healthy Heart Run, which takes place during all Physical Education classes, is Wednesday, February 15th, Thursday, February 16th, and Friday, February 17th. We still need volunteers to help hole punch the students' heart cards as they complete laps around the gym. The sign-ups are in small increments of time, and a couple of dozen slots are still available. Please sign up for one or more! We appreciate your time and help in seeing our students succeed with their fitness goals! Please click HERE to volunteer.
Please click HERE for our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) digital update.
As a reminder, the school's front doors are only to be used for those students that are going to breakfast from 8:40-8:45 am. Between 8:45 and 9:15 am, students should be dropped off at either the STEM or Traditional car rider areas. After 9:15 am, students are late and must be walked in and signed in at the front lobby. Please remind your child that if they need breakfast upon arriving at school, they should enter and go straight to the cafeteria to arrive to class on time.
Please keep this in mind... If you hear something from your child that doesn't seem right, check with your child's teacher immediately. Should safety ever be compromised, I will promptly notify all families. Creating a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment is critical to educating and preparing our learners to achieve their highest potential. The safety of your children will always be at the forefront. We have a very dedicated staff who work hard to ensure your child is welcomed, served, and dismissed safely every day, whether via car, bus, or walking.
I want to thank you for your partnership with Pleasant Valley! We are so appreciative of all of our Pleasant Valley families. Should you ever have any questions, concerns, or just a terrific idea you would like to share, especially about improving parent involvement, please email me at bokas@parmacityschools.org or call the main office at 440.885.2380.
Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Stephanie Boka

Attendance is Important
Attendance Procedures
If your child is going to be absent, please call our office at our updated attendance line number, 440-843-3867, no later than 9:30 am. If the absence requires a doctor's visit, please provide a doctor's note when they return to school. Daily student attendance is a vital component of student academic success. With House Bill 410, the state of Ohio requires each school district to communicate with families when a child is chronically absent.
For additional information on HB 410, please visit this link.
School Fees
Please remember to turn in your child's school fees for the 2022-23 school year. 2022-23 school fees are $45.00 per child.
We accept cash (exact change preferred), checks, or money orders
