ThinkBIG – Electric Power Generation
A two-year college-level program, the Electrical Power Generation Dealer Service Technology Associate Degree program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in the Power Systems and Electric Power Generation service and repair profession, specifically for Caterpillar dealers. This program is run through South Georgia Technical College. Learning in the classroom, lab assignments, and paid internships enable students to develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of generator operation, networks and repair, engine technology, and automatic transfer switch troubleshooting and repair. It is an ideal fit for a student who has elected Electrical or Power Equipment Technology at the high school level and/or has expressed an interest in working on large generators that are used to power hospitals, schools, and other large facilities or are utilized in disaster responses.
Graduates of both programs will be highly skilled, technically trained, in-demand members of the worldwide Caterpillar family. We are committed to finding the best candidates for these programs and starting them on the path to a great career! Programs begin in July of each year and we will start the selection process for 2022 in January.
