A Message from Ms. Danielle
Here are two more ways to encourage your child to keep reading this summer:
- Visit the SD46 BookMobile (see poster below).
- Bring your child to either the Sechelt (or Gibsons) Public Libraries. They both offer a host of free summer programs and have great children's book collections. Complete and return the parent permission form that was sent home this week, and your child will be able to get their very own Sechelt Public Library card (also good at the Gibsons Public Library) right here in the WSES learning commons, on Wednesday, June 22nd.
The Last Day and the First
On behalf of the West Sechelt staff, I would like to thank you all for the support you have extended to us as we worked through the bright spots and the challenges that have been the 2021-22 school year. It has been my honour to serve as principal of the school in my own community, a school that welcomed my own children. I hope you are able to give Mrs. Cowan the same generous support that you have given to me. I also hope you have a chance to say good-bye to those wonderful staff who will not be returning:
Teachers
Mrs. Fraser
Mrs. Marion
Mr. Hagerman
Mr. Karagianis
Ms. Lawson
Ms. Hoy
Mr. Taylor
Support Staff
Mrs. Clayton
Ms. Carrie
Ms. Leanne
Ms. Alex
Ms. Emma
I know you will join me in wishing them all the best at their new schools! But, I would be remiss if I did not extend special thanks to Mrs. Clayton. The administration assistant is critical to the smooth operation of any school. Mrs. Clayton has helped to set the tone of West Sechelt, being the first to welcome new families and often the last to say good-bye to those who leave. She has gone above and beyond in supporting students in need, often at the expense of her own time, having to then work extra hard to get caught up. I have appreciated that care when it is extended to me, which it often has been, as she has worked to ensure I have all I need to do my duties! Thank you, Mrs. Clayton.
Mr. Marshall
A Special Good-Bye
