In order to vote on items or be elected to the board, you must be a paid member of the PTSA.

At our May Ruby Bridges Elementary PTSA General Membership meeting on

Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 6:30 pm Zoom

We will be voting on a new Board of Directors.

The 2020-2021 Ruby Bridges Elementary PTSA nominating committee places the following names in nomination for the 2021-2022 Board of Directors:

For office of President: Barbara Taheri

For office of Vice President: Jennifer Herrman

For office of Secretary: OPEN

For office of Treasurer: Zheng Lv

We are still searching for someone to serve as Secretary. If interested, please reach out to Mary Khouzam, Alex Crane, Pauline Wray or Aishwariya Pushpangadan.

We will also be voting on next year's PTSA Budget.

Awards - Award nominations are due on May 14th 2021 - Committee Member needed!

Do you know of an outstanding teacher /educator who goes the extra mile for students?

to Ruby Bridges Elementary School?

Or a volunteer that goes above and beyond?

Take a moment to think about the people who might be good candidates for any of the local PTsA awards.

Golden Acorn Award:

Recognizes an individual volunteer who has given outstanding volunteer service to all children in the school community. This acknowledges service by an individual "above and beyond" a particular job description.

Outstanding Educator Award:

Recognizes an individual educator who goes beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging for students.

To nominate, please complete our online confidential nomination form by May 14, 2021.

There is no limit for the number of nominations submitted per person!

Washington State PTA Convention - May 18 to May 23 - Virtual

Registration for the convention closes on May 3 at 6:59 am. Register here.

WSPTA members, with paid membership for 2020-2021, can attend this year’s WSPTA Convention 2021. The cost to participate is $70. This includes access to all professional development webinars, materials, prerecorded videos, keynote speakers, and general sessions.

Congratulations to Team Mabrook for winning the RBE inaugural Earth Day scavenger hunt.

They won a $50 gift card to Zulu's Board Game Cafe in Bothell.

Junior Achievement

Thank you to all the 4th and 5th grade families that participated in Junior Achievement this Spring. We owe a special thanks to the coordinators and teachers of Junior Achievement.

There are currently plans to offer Junior Achievement to a wider grade range next fall.

Thank you to everyone that purchased Scholastic books in support of our spring bookfair

This school year we made $494.98 in Scholastic dollars to support the Ruby Bridges Elementary Library.
