What are we learning about this week?
STAAR Camp is this week!
Please bring your technology everyday this week.
We will be getting the students prepared mentally and academically this week for their first STAAR test. Students will learn a variety of test-taking strategies as well as Texas Essential Knowledge Skills that pertain to the test. Please see below for our fun dress-up days this week!
HELP! STUDENT STORE FRIDAY, MAY 17TH!
Our First Annual 3rd Grade Store is May 17th! We are looking for parent volunteers to organize and run this event including a preview of items for sale as well as organizing the sale of the items. Students will use class dollars to purchase the items.
We are also looking for parent volunteers to organize and run this store the last week of school. If you are interested please contact your child's teacher. Thank you in advance!
STAAR CAMP INFORMATION
The week of May 6th-10th is STAAR CAMP. Each day, students will learn a specific skill to prepare them for the STAAR, all with the fun of dressing up!
Monday 6th-Dress up like you're from the 50's
Tuesday 7th-Wear your favorite sports hero/favorite team jersey
Wednesday 8th-Star Wars, may the force be with you
Thursday 9th-Rock out like a Rock Star
Friday 10th-Aloha to Star Camp. Wear your favorite tropical fashion!

Spelling:
No spelling this week
Reading:
Interested in seeing what a STAAR test looks like? Use this LINK and download an old version of past STAAR tests and have your student try one with you. They should look very familiar to them. They can tell you all about a strategy they would use on each question. (Don't worry, the answers are linked too)
All Math Classes:
No homework, but....
All PACE students: Should have mastered ALL multiplication math facts under 4 minutes 0-12, mixed math facts, and division timed tests by now.
On Level Math Students: Should have mastered ALL of their math facts 0-10 under 4 minutes.
Please ask you child what level of facts they are on and study nightly.
