What You Need to Know - Day 1

Dear New Albany - Plain Local Schools Families,

As we approach the first day of school for grades 1 through 12 on Thursday, August 15, 2019, we want to update families on student arrival and departure from the school campus.

The city of New Albany will reopen Dublin-Granville Road for
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ONLY at 6 a.m. on Tuesday - August 13.

This will allow access for parents to drop off and pick up students in the McCoy/Middle School Loop (see below). Please note: Vehicles must exit the McCoy/Middle School Loop at the middle school by making a RIGHT TURN ONLY onto Dublin Granville Road. NO LEFT TURN will be permitted.

***Due to the Rose Run construction project, there will be no pedestrian or bike traffic permitted on Dublin Granville Road. The leisure trails and velo loop are still being constructed. We will continue to provide updates based on progress reported by the City.

School Bus Transportation

School bus transportation eligibility for the 2019-20 school year remains the same as last school year. ALL students enrolled in Grades K-5 are eligible for school bus transportation to and from school unless enrolled in Eagles Nest. (Students enrolled in Eagles Nest a.m. are not eligible for a.m. transportation, likewise for students enrolled in p.m. Eagles Nest. Students enrolled in both a.m./p.m. are not eligible for transportation). Students in Grades 6-12 living greater than 2 miles from the bus depot at the Intermediate School are eligible for school bus transportation unless the student receives a student parking pass.

For all other parents/guardians and students not eligible for school bus transportation services, we want to provide you important information about traffic patterns and drop off/pick up loops across the school campus.

The following map illustrates the locations of drop off/pick up loops A, B, and C across the school campus.

  • We encourage you to use any of the loops for student drop off/pick up based upon traffic patterns.
  • We are a walking/biking school campus and students may walk/bike to their school buildings from any loop.
