Van Brunt Elementary
October Newsletter
We have certainly had a busy month! The staff and students of Van Brunt are energized, settling into new routines, and finding ways to recognize the positive every day. Students have completed assessments which have provided teachers with a wealth of information. This information is being used to help us determine how to best meet the needs of each student.
We are already seeing so much growth in reading, writing, and math. I love hearing how excited students are to share what they are currently reading, or plan to read next. Teachers are building incredible classroom libraries and students are loving exploring new books. Classes are working on increasing their reading and writing stamina. Great goals are being set and met every day! Students are sharing a variety of ways to solve math problems and working on mastering basic facts.
I appreciate that families are encouraging their children to get a good night's sleep, complete their homework, and do their very best every day. When school and families work together, we can accomplish great things! As always, if you ever have questions, concerns, or compliments about something going on at Van Brunt, please don't hesitate to call me or your child's teacher.
We are looking forward to a great second month of school!
