PLC and Walkthrough Focus

PLC's

  • English 7 & World Cultures finalize curriculum and grading rubric for Intersession
  • Will each member of your PLC commit to one Saturday Academic Service day per Quarter?
  • Did your PLC turn in minutes for your last meeting and answer the requests put out on last weeks Mayan Weekly?
  • Save a few minutes for Mrs. Alvarez to visit your PLC's in regards to the Website
  • Ask your curricullum specialists about their visit to MOH last week
  • No Tech Time this week

Walkthroughs

  • Even if you are giving an assessment you should have a DLT posted
  • What are you doing to increase rigor and relevance in your class?
  • Remember if you are showing a movie be sure to follow District guidelines
  • Keep integrating tech and common core strategies
  • Math walkthroughs went well. Everyone had a DLT and effective instruction was taking place. While very little technology was being used many SSI activities were taking place.

Updates and Reminders

  1. Remember if you are showing a movie be sure to follow District guidelines
  2. With the extreme heat encourage kids to drink plenty of water and don't forget to stay hydrated yourself!
  3. Extended Day Intersession classes in English 7 and World Cultures will take place Sept. 22-26. Thanks to Ms. Cortez, Ms. Flam, and Ms. Kunkle
  4. Credit Recovery starts Tuesday, October 7th. Thanks to Ms. Savage (I hope) and Ms. Kunkle.
  5. It's the last week until break, it's hot, and kids may get restless. Send kids to the office if behavior is an issue.
  6. We were allocated a few more FTE's. Counselors and I will be working to identify our greatest needs. We will also look to take over a support class from Categorical so that money is available to staff members who are interested in writing CFA's and curriculum for interventions/credit recovery.
