Tools Galore!

This month's featured tool is a collection of Ed Tech tools by Dr. Jorden Cotten. We like how she categorized the tools by function and appreciate the time it's taken to include such a wide variety.

The Microsoft TEAMS Playbook: Your Guide to an Empowered Classroom

This month, we are delighted to share a book written by two amazing educators from Region 11!

As Instructional Technologists serving 29 different schools in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, Jeni Long and Sallee Clark -- also known as #Jenallee -- quickly learned that many teachers have similar questions and needs across the district. The experiences they learned during the COVID-19 pandemic allowed for hands-on learning as well as trial-and-error opportunities for teachers and students districtwide. Jeni and Sallee learned from working closely with remote lessons via Microsoft Teams and collaborating with educators worldwide on how to make the best of a remote situation, hybrid classroom, and in-person learning. They are now sharing their knowledge and wisdom in their new book.

The Microsoft Teams Playbook: Your Guide to an Empowered Classroom is divided into four main parts:

  1. Huddle Up and Survey the Field - Meet your coaches and (1) hear their journey as moms of children with dyslexia, along with their suggestions for leveling the playing field in your classroom; and (2) ideas to get started with Teams.
  2. Defining the Game Rules: Best Practices - A Teams tour with ideas for best practices from personal experiences.
  3. Learn the Plays - More than 70 lessons for teachers to apply to any content area. The plays include QR codes, videos, templates, blogs, and more.
  4. Practice Makes Perfect - Learn how to connect with companies shared in the book, discover how to build your PLN, and continue to grow in your learning journey.

Meet Jeni and Salee in this video, and click here for more information and a brief Q&A.

We're so proud to know #Jenallee, otherwise known as Jeni Long and Sallee Clark!
