GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS INSTITUTE AT TREMONT
February 23 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
This (free) workshop will explore the divided allegiances of the people of the Great Smoky Mountains during the Civil War and how this impacted their daily lives. We will participate in the activities that are part of a new Ranger-led, virtual field trip that explore the questions of “what do you value?” and “what would you be willing to give up to protect and preserve what you value?”. After a short presentation on the Civil War in the Smokies, we will spend time in breakout rooms working through activities in small groups.

Mariner's Museum and Park Virtual Programs
While we can’t physically be with you in our beloved Museum, we will do our best to bring the Museum to YOU through unique and interactive virtual programming!
Through virtual lectures and programs, we will continue to share incredible stories that show how we are all connected through the world’s waters, and hopefully learn something together along the way.
Can’t make the live program? No problem! Many of our virtual programs are uploaded to our YouTube Channel shortly afterwards.
