A Message From Principal Kelly Morris

Superintendent's, Dr. Bob Taylor, Message to WVUSD Families About Reopening Our Schools

Reopening of Schools Learning Plan

Walnut Valley Unified will be offering two options for returning to school.

Option #1 is the "Traditional School Instructional Plan". The ultimate goal of this plan is to eventually have students physically back-to-school receiving in-person instruction when it is safe to do so. The "Traditional School Instructional Plan" will start August 10th with Distance Learning and the district will reassess in September to determine if it is safe to go back-to-school on a Split Schedule or 100% in-person instruction with safety measures in place.

Option #2 is the "100% Independent Study/Distance Learning Plan". For students with health and/or family member health considerations during the COVID-19 pandemic, WVUSD is implementing a plan to allow students to opt into a 100% Independent Study/Distance Learning approach if and when the district chooses to implement a full-time or split schedule in-person approach.

All of this information is outlined in the document below. An Elementary Webinar for Parents will be held July 20th at 3:00 PM to learn more about the details of these two plans. Link below for elementary webinar. If you cannot attend the webinar, a recording of the webinar will be posted on the Walnut Valley website.

If you opt for the "100% Independent Study/Distance Learning Plan", please fill out the form ("Opt In For Independent Study/Distance Learning Plan) located below by July 22nd. Your response will be used for future planning purposes and is not binding. We understand that your decision may change given the state of affairs in the months to come.
