HS Scheduling For Current 8th Graders
High School Counselors spoke to the Class of 2023 today at SMS and presented an overview of the course selection process 4 year plan and all the exciting opportunities they have to be involved in next year.
Eighth Grade Teachers have submitted their course recommendations for 9th grade core curriculum/honors course enrollment.
Parents & students can begin this weekend by following the directions posted in the PowerPoint Presentation linked Here on how to submit course requests. Make sure to click “ok” between each request!
There will be a meeting for eighth grade students and their parents in the Strongsville High School Auditorium on February 7th, at 7:00pm to review information shared with students and answer questions.
There will also be a College Credit Plus (CCP) meeting for students and parents interested in earning college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities, for free. The meetings will be held on SHS Parent Conference nights February 12th & 20th at 6:30pm in the High School Auditorium. Students interested in doing this must have their intent form to their school counselor by April 1, 2019.
Mrs. Pietrocini will be going into your students 8th Grade Science Classes to wrap up scheduling February 7th & 8th- and to answer any further questions students might have.
Final submissions are due February 11, 2019.
I am excited for all that next year (and beyond) has to bring to our 8th grade students!
Parent Teacher Conferences
Having conferences available to parents over the course of two nights allows for flexibility and gives families options, as we know activities can consume evenings. Please be mindful as there will be others waiting in line behind you to speak with teachers. Keep your conversations with individual teachers to 5-7 minutes.
Thank you, for your attention to this and we look forward to seeing you!
School Success Skills Workshops
