Powell Valley Elementary School-January 4, 2022
Message from the Principal
We are pleased to welcome all of our students and families back to learning at Powell Valley Elementary School!
We hope that you all had a restful and wonderful holiday break!
As we get back into the routine of school please take a moment to remind your child of the school expectations that we have. Be safe, Be respectful, and Be responsible. We are taking this week to remind our students and to reteach our behavior expectations. As always we appreciate our families and always want to work together as a team for our students!
Kind regards,
Principal O'Daniel
Reminder for all families
There are multiple students being dropped off at both the K-2 and 3-5 sections of our building. It is imperative that all drivers be aware that children are walking across the pathway to enter the building and drivers must be patient and wait for them to enter PVES safely before pulling around to leave the parking lot area.
Kindergarten Families!
Friendly Reminder:
We need a copy of your child's birth certificate on file at PVES. There are a few ways that you can get that to us:
1. If you are comfortable email to Tracy Junk. junk@gresham.k12.or.us
2. Put a copy in your child's backpack teacher folder and let the teacher know so she/he can get it to us in the office.

PVES Counselor's Corner
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope winter break was a relaxing and enjoyable time for you and your family. As we are in the coldest time of the year, I want you to know that if your student is in need of coats and your family is unable to purchase it please let me know. I have some brand new coats in my office donated by Fred Meyer a few years ago.
I also want to remind you that this month, I will start my lesson on personal safety that includes safe, unsafe and unwanted touches. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the curriculum.
Don’t forget to contact 2-1-1 if you are in need of food, utility or housing assistance or check out their website https://www.211info.org/ to find out the latest information. Additional resources can be found here: GBSD Food Resources. If you receive SNAP benefits, please contact your local self-sufficiency office to inquire about assistance.
Warmly,
Nelia Collins
School Counselor
