Standards-Based Grading Reunion!

Are you implementing Standards-based Grading in your world language classroom? Come celebrate your successes, share your challenges and discuss assessment. Learn how to evaluate student performance on an IPA and participate in team-based calibrated grading practices that support SBG.
Participants will receive:
samples of IPAs completed by students
time to collectively grade student samples using Oakland Schools rubrics
examples of IPAs in French, German and and Spanish (Novice and Intermediate)
recommended rubrics
recommended resources
tips and examples for gradebook setups
suggestions for grading and providing consistent, effective feedback
Who should attend?
Individuals or teams of teachers, department heads, administrators, curriculum directors who attended the Oakland Schools Standards-based Grading workshop or are currently using Standards-based Grading practices in their world language classrooms
Requirements:
Participants are requested to bring paper copies of assessments with student responses identified by mode (Interpersonal, Interpretive and Presentational) and level, e.g. French 1, German 2, Spanish 3.
Date: Tuesday, February 5, 2019
Time: 8:30 am to 3:30 p.m.
The afternoon includes studio time (for teams to begin to work on their SBG district plan).
Cost:
Oakland County: $35 (includes lunch and materials)
Out-of-County: $55 (includes lunch and materials)
Please bring a laptop/device. Oakland Schools will have a set of laptops available.
