Honoring and Celebrating Three *AMAZING* Educators!
Meet Mrs. Deb Torrance: SGE's Wellness Teacher
My name is Deborah Torrance and I am excited to introduce myself as Stonegate’s Wellness teacher. My family and I moved from Normal, Il. to Zionsville in 2012. I spent the first 2 years helping my children, Hailey (18) and Brock (15) settle into our new community as well as pursuing my passion for fitness and becoming certified as a personal trainer. My daughter, Hailey, will be graduating from ZCHS this year and attending Ball State in the fall pursuing a dual degree in Elementary Education/Special Needs. Brock will be a Sophomore at ZCHS and keeps us traveling through his involvement in baseball and football. Along with my husband Trent, we have come to make Zionsville our home.
Prior to our move, I spent 17 years as an elementary teacher and administrator. These years were spent teaching kindergarten and third grade as well as an elementary principal. Over the past 2 years, I have served as Stonegate’s Title 1 Reading Interventionist. Through this role I have had the pleasure of getting to know many students and their families. My new role will allow me to combine my two passions--teaching children and fitness! I believe giving children a solid foundation of fundamental movement skills, making healthy choices, and developing an appreciation and enjoyment of being active will not only have a positive impact on their physical well-being but their social, emotional, and academic development as well. I look forward to working with all students, staff, families, and the community to establish a culture of wellness for living happy, healthy, and fit lifestyles.
Congratulations, Mandy!

4th Grade Graduation and Last Day of School Details
Due to lack of space in our gymnasium, the team, Connie, and Martha all met last week and decided that we will be changing our 4th Grade Graduation back to exclusively the students, staff, and their families. Here are the new details below:
- 4th Grade Graduation will be on the last day of school, Thursday, May 26th
- It will start at 9:45AM and will be located in our gymnasium
- We will give out the following awards: Emily Delvecchio, Presidential Award (Gold), Presidential Award (Silver), John Wooden Award for Integrity, Awards for each related section (Music, Art, Media Center, STEM)
- Students will have their name called and they will stand up, walk across the stage, get recognized, and sit back down
- We will STILL announce/recognize our Teacher of the Year (Allison Albright) and our Someone Special Award (James Githaiga). We will provide brief coverage for Allison during this time.
- 4th Grade team will also put their end-of-year slideshow on Canvas so other teachers/staff can view it at their convenience.
- On Wednesday, May 25th, the entire class + Connie/Martha will do a graduation practice in the gymnasium so that this new event will go as smoothly as possible!
4th Grade Walking/Dancing (no longer "Running") of the Halls:
- On our last day, the 4th graders will still go through the halls for one last time.
- All students and staff will line the hallways to congratulate and honor our 4th graders!
- Rather than running the halls, we have decided to play fun and upbeat music so they can either walk or dance the halls for their last time.
- This change will allow for students to go through the hallways at a slower pace so families/friends can get pictures, but it will also be a time celebrate them in a jovial fashion prior to heading off to middle school.
- During our graduation practice, students will be told of these procedures and will be informed of what is/is not appropriate during this walk/dance of the halls event.
- Families will be encouraged to arrive at SGE at 3:00PM and they will start their walk/dance at approximately 3:05PM
