Smoke Signals
We Are Family!
Week of March 26 - 30
This is the last week before Spring Break, we can do this!
- Tuesday - IST/SST Meetings
- Wednesday - Spring Pictures & Faculty Meeting (last session for required GAMS Testing Training)
New AED Machines
We have new AEDs. What is different?
- If using on a student that is LESS THAN 55 LBS you need to insert the pink key into the slot on the front of the AED. Over 55 lbs. no pink key insertion required.
- If you are using on a student that is LESS THAN 55 LBS you will need to place the pads with one on front and one on back. The new AEDs only have one set of pads.
If you have any Questions….please ask Nurse Robyn or Nurse Sheila
Good Vibes
There are so many amazing things going on at Sawnee and that is because of YOU!
We would like to thank Shannon Warr for her work getting the Good Vibes out to you!
Here are just a few of the shout outs that were submitted this month.
Neris Kager
Neris stays busy supporting two students in particular, but also assists with the other students she comes into contact with in small group settings and Ms. Kuhn’s homeroom. She spends a lot of time walking the hallways and walkways, making sure her students get from one place to the next safely. She always says “hello” and stops in often to ask how others are doing. More importantly, she genuinely wants to know the answer. She is flexible and willing to step in when needed and is a quiet, but important, staff member!
Madeline Pagan
Madeline goes above and beyond to serve all of our ELL students at Sawnee Elementary! She works diligently on communicating with our students and their families on a daily basis while also preparing our students for success. Madeline serves as an advocate for students in making sure their needs are being met. She is an excellent educator and colleague!
Morgan Smith
Morgan Smith is a first year teacher, but that doesn’t stop her from helping anyone whenever needed. I can think of so many occasions where Morgan has come to work early or stayed late to help someone out. Particularly, Morgan came to work early yesterday morning to warm up the laminator before I could get to work. She then spent 30 minutes of her own time helping me laminate several things. I am thankful for Morgan and so happy she’s on my team!
Shannon Warr
I wanted to give a shout out to Shannon Warr. She has taken our media center and turned it into a well-organized place of resources. She is also always willing to help the teachers. Just in the last 2 weeks she has offered to laminate items for me on short notice and pulled multiple books for different content areas and special holidays. Whenever I go in the media center to print or look for resources she ALWAYS offers to help. She juggles students going in and out of the media center, a specials class and teachers’ needs…and she does it with a warm smile and a willing nature. I am so happy that Shannon Warr is part of my TRIBE!!!
