Guidance

October brings us Red Ribbon Week. Guidance lessons that week will center around drug and alcohol awareness. Other October guidance lessons focus on recognizing Bullying and becoming an "Upstander": Someone who stands up for others who are treated poorly.

Social Media

Navigating social media is tricky! How much freedom should your child have? What kinds of conversations are they having? What about privacy? What about trust? On October 5th, CNN aired a special report called #Being13: Inside the Secret World of Teens. It's never too early to start thinking about how your child uses the internet and what kind of rules you'll have in place at home. The link below will connect you to the CNN article. At the end of the story is the link to the show. You do have to create a CNNgo account to watch the entire show. To sign into CNNgo, simply sign in with the same username and password that you use to access your TV provider account.
