Greetings Fugett Families,

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Every May, we recognize the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Together, we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness.

Karen Best/Al Livingston Award Recipient - Conrad Kowalski

Congratulations to Conrad Kowalski for representing Fugett Middle School last night where he was the recipient of this year's Karen Best/Al Livingston Award. This award is presented to a student who not only maintains outstanding academic performance, but who demonstrates true citizenship by participating in service to others both in and out of school. This award was selected by Fugett's Social Studies Department and is given in memory of West Chester Area School District teacher Karen Best.

PA Media and Design Competition Winner - Jaydon Sam

The PA Media and Design Competition is an annual event that highlights Pennsylvania students’ application skills, creativity and knowledge. Students are able to unleash their creativity, learn how to convey information more dynamically, and enhance the learning process.

Friday, June 2nd - 8th grade Picnic

Friday, June 2nd - 8th grade Dance from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in FMS gym

Friday, June 9th - 8th grade Celebration (8:30 am)

Monday, June 12th - Field Day

8th grade end-of-year celebration information

The 8th Grade End of Year Celebration will take place on June 9th, 2023 at 8:30am. Due to limited seats each student will be given two guest tickets.

Please use the form below to provide information about the extracurricular activities your student has participated in as well as to account for the number of students who will be leaving school after the ceremony.


8th grade dance information - June 2

The 8th Grade Dance will take place on Friday, June 2, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Tickets are $20 and payment is due by May 17th. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. To purchase tickets and review the 8th grade dance info and policy, use the link below:

Fugett Athletics

The Spring sports season has finished. Congratulations and thank you to all student athletes and coaches for a great season. Thank you to the parents for your support this year. And a special shout-out to the 8th grade baseball team. Over the last two years, they have compiled a 22-0 record!

During the month of May or June, 6th graders will complete an Impact baseline concussion test during PE class. The tests are done on computers and will provide a baseline for the next two years at Fugett. The results are stored in an online database and if necessary, can be provided to parents and/or physicians if a student has a possible concussion. Lincoln University FREE STEM Camp

This summer (July 10 - August 3), Lincoln University is offering a FREE STEM camp on our main campus near Oxford, PA. The camp will run Monday through Thursday and is for rising 6th through 8th graders. While all students/families are welcome to apply, the grant requires that 80% of our student population qualify for free or reduced lunch and are members of marginalized groups.

Interested in playing sports at West Chester East High School?

Transitioning to high school athletics can be overwhelming, not only for the students, but for their families as well. Choose a sport in the flyers below to learn more on how to get started and who to contact to sign up. Provided for each sport are the coaches name, email and a link to the team's "welcome newsletter."


Hello from the Fugett PTO!


Our favorite time of year at Fugett is fall because of our biggest PTO event - Fright Night! We would like to start preparing for this spooktacular October night early, and we are seeking a few volunteers specifically for the Haunted House committee. If you like Halloween decorating, then we need your creativity to enhance this experience for our kids. Please contact the PTO ( if interested.

Donations for West Chester Food Cupboard

The PTO is collecting donations to support the WC Food Cupboard. Please consider purchasing items in need and having your student place the donation in the blue bin marked "Food Cupboard", located at the cafeteria entrance. items most needed are: diapers, feminine products, cereal, toothpaste, deodorant, canned meat and fish, and canned fruit. Any items that you can spare are always gratefully accepted. We will continue this much needed service throughout the year. Thank you for your generosity and support!
