From the Desk of Principal Fears

Greetings Fugett Families,

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Every May, we recognize the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Together, we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness.

The Spring sports season has finished. Congratulations and thank you to all student athletes and coaches for a great season. Thank you to the parents for your support this year. And a special shout-out to the 8th grade baseball team. Over the last two years, they have compiled a 22-0 record!

During the month of May or June, 6th graders will complete an Impact baseline concussion test during PE class. The tests are done on computers and will provide a baseline for the next two years at Fugett. The results are stored in an online database and if necessary, can be provided to parents and/or physicians if a student has a possible concussion. For more information, please see this link below or email Thomas Swift at tswift@wcasd.net.
