Lincoln Lowdown

It was wonderful to have such a great turnout for our welcome back picnic and family literacy night. There were over 200 people in attendance and it was a wonderful way to welcome old and new families. We are looking forward to seeing everyone this Monday for our supply drop off at 8:00-9:30.

Our first day is earlier than in previous years, so please make the most of this final weekend. Although this summer was shorter, we have been quite busy here at Lincoln getting ready to welcome everyone back on Wednesday for the first day of school.

You will notice some changes outside and inside when you come in next week. We have a lot of exciting new additions, some include our playground, new LRC furniture, and decor. We look forward to welcoming you to these new additions next week! Follow us on Twitter to see the work as it is happening. We are building something awesome for this year!

If you weren't able to make the BBQ the next opportunity to join us at Lincoln will be Monday, August 12th for our “Supply Drop Off” event. Families are invited to join us from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. that day to drop off student materials and meet classroom teachers. At 9:30 a.m. staff members will be heading to our whole staff meeting so that we can ensure we are ready to go when the students join us on Wednesday, August 14th.

Just to reiterate--There are a few staff changes that have happened as we head into the 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to be welcoming the following staff members to our Lincoln family:

  • Karin Cranmer - LRC Director

  • Amy Kappele - Reading Specialist

  • Kellsa Jontz - Art teacher

  • Mallory Montes - Occupational Therapist, on maternity leave. Allison Peuler will start out the year with us

  • Jamie Reinbold - Part-time Resource teacher

  • Phillip Carter - Orchestra teacher

  • Stella Iori- - Teaching Assistant

  • Debbie Fick - Administrative Assistant

Having been one of those new faces just a year ago, I know that the Lincoln community will welcome these staff members and they will feel at home very quickly.

Every school year, we have a couple of forms that need to be completed and turned in for each of our students. These forms are:

Required forms:

· Annual Student Registration Update

· D303 Web 2.0 Resources and Student Online Accounts

· 3rd Grade ONLY - Health Survey form

Optional form:

· Volunteer Information and Waiver of Liability

If you have not turned in these forms for your student(s), please return them to the office as soon as possible. You can either stop in the office to complete them or you can click on the links below to print them out and email them back to me:

PTO Welcome Back Coffee

After you drop off your son or daughter on August 14, please join the PTO and other Lincoln parents for a cup of coffee and refreshments on the south lawn. This is a wonderful way to meet other parents and continue to build our strong Lincoln community.
