New Year 7 students enjoy Summer School

We welcome our new Year 7 students to the Anglo European School along with their families. Those who attended our Summer School have enjoyed making new friends and familiarising themselves with the school and engaging in various workshops and activities this week. Many thanks to our brilliant staff who have given up 2 weeks of their holiday to ensure this was a great success. We are really looking forward to working with this year group who have made a fabulous start to their AES careers.

On Site Lateral Flow Tests

The new guidance requires schools to provide 2 on site lateral flow tests for consenting students 3-5 days apart. We have therefore implemented a staggered start to try to minimise disruption to teaching and maximise the numbers of students we can get through the test centre each day.

The test used in September will the Orient Gene Lateral Flow only involves the nasal swab to both nostrils. Results should be clear in 15 minutes.

We will only test those students who have provided consent. For current Year 6 students, those new to Anglo as Mid-Year starters, those new to the Sixth Form or for those who have changed their mind and now wish to join the testing programme, please find attached a letter about how to consent. If you consented last year and now wish to withdraw consent, please e-mail enquiries@aesessex.co.uk to do so in writing.

Students should report for their first test at the appointment stated. Please stick to these times as we only have limited capacity on the test site and staff will be training or teaching elsewhere. Students should enter at the New Road entrance and progress to the back playground where they will line up at the back of the Sports Hall and be escorted into the test site. The process should take no more than an hour and they should then leave the school site once testing has been completed by the same gate onto New Road.
