RED HAWK
Manchester High School's News Digest, 10/14-10/18
Seniors Traivon Nieves and Emmanuel Nurse, along with senior Jaylin McGhee, designed an experiment to investigate properties of back-and-forth motion. Using a motion sensor positioned high above the table, Traivon leaps as high as he can, while data is gathered and analyzed using a Vernier LabQuest interface and Graphic Analysis 4 on student Chromebooks. Students used their data to make claims about the slopes of each graph and how they relate to velocity and acceleration. Each student is working hard toward our vision of the graduate by demonstrating capacities related to problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.
