Principal's Note...
Wow! What an amazing week we had at MMES! We kicked things off by learning that our Pre-K students won a second place ribbon at the Topsfield Fair for their pumpkin art! Congrats to all of the children and to Mrs. Turpel and Mrs. Provost! When you visit the fair this year, be sure to check out their display!
The middle of our week was highlighted by one of the most fun events we have ever had at MMES...The Happy Hornet Fun Run! Thank you to all of the parents who joined us at the event as it looked like we had well over 100 parents come out to support the kids! The event raised money (over $15,000) for our PTO Enrichment programs and the kids had so much fun running, dancing, and skipping their way around the mini tracks! The look on the kids' faces throughout the event was priceless and the DJ was a huge hit! Our kids work so hard that it was a nice little treat to have some fun on a Tuesday morning! The MMPTO is interested in your feedback about the program...take a moment to complete their survey here:

We know that EFFORT is one of our core values at MMES and the Fun Run program reinforced the benefits of having a growth mindset. The MCAS results were officially published yesterday and we were so proud to see that MMES was the TOP performing North Shore elementary school in BOTH ELA and MATHEMATICS! Our students, teachers, and parents never cease to amaze me! Congratulations to all as it is truly a team effort! Check out these graphs! Very impressive:

We are currently searching to build our substitute pool for the 18-19 school year. Do you know someone locally who has experience working with children in a school setting?
