A message from our Principal
Throughout this COVID-19 crisis, Family Partnership is very fortunate to be able to conduct business as usual, supporting our families as they continue to homeschool their children. Our offices are physically closed, but we are still open. All staff are answering phones and emails. Any in-person activities including enrichment classes, field trips, and events have been cancelled until March 30th and will be reviewed on March 27th to determine if this measure will be extended. The following are some options for supporting your students academically:
• Seek out academic support remotely through virtual activities.
• Join a homeschool group online and share ideas with each other.
• Work collaboratively with other homeschool parents to brainstorm educational ideas.
We recognize this is a very challenging time and we want to assist you in thinking creatively about how to meet the educational needs of your child. We are here to support you. Let us know how we can help. The health and well-being of our families and staff is our top priority.
Thank you,
Jessica Parker

Free Live Webinar
IEW's Andrew Pudewa is offering a free webinar for teachers and parents titled "A Crash Course in Accidental Homeschooling". Though our parents are purposefully homeschooling, I kinow many who will just be happy to hear Andrew and his engaging ideas on homeschooling. If you think your parents would be interested or have family/friends who would be interested please share this link with them.
The live webinar will be held on March 23, 7:30 pm-8:30 pm CT. Once registered, if they miss the live webinar a recording will be sent directly to their inbox.
"Join us for an enjoyable and important webinar as Andrew Pudewa sheds some light on how teachers and parents can facilitate learning in the new exclusively at-home learning environment now prevalent nationwide. Andrew will be talking about how to continue learning at home, the benefits of reading aloud, how to incorporate poetry memorization, how to implement the free lessons offered by IEW, and more."

Climate and Connectedness Survey
Family Parents,
The Anchorage School District is partnering with the Association of Alaska School Boards to conduct the School Climate and Connectedness Survey©, a statewide survey for students, staff, and families. This survey measures their perceptions of each school's climate including engagement of students, staff, and families. School staff will use the results to inform their efforts to ensure we have a supportive and caring program for homeschool families.
Family Partnership parent/guardians are asked to complete a family survey. Please log on to the survey here: surveys.panoramaed.com/aasb
Your access code: familypartnershipfamily
The family survey is open now and will remain open until March 31st.
Because Family Partnership is a homeschool program, please answer the survey questions through the perspective of your child's home education or skip the questions that do not apply.
Thank you for your cooperation in this year’s School Climate and Connectedness Survey.
Sincerely,
Jessica Parker
