Principal's Message

Beachmont Families,

We hope that everyone had a safe and relaxing February Break! It is hard to believe that spring is right around the corner. We are hopeful that the next four months will bring some normalcy and consistency to our lives.

There is a lot happening at Beachmont in the next seven weeks(between now and April Break). We have a number of school-wide events, field trips, as well as MCAS testing for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders that are planned to take place. We will continue to update families on Class Dojo(school-wide) and individual teachers will continue to send electronic updates. Please reach out if you are not receiving school-wide communications (cfreisen@reverek12.org)

We need to ensure that all of our Beachmont Bees are attending school each and every day. The school day begins at 8:20 am. Please be mindful of your child's attendance and make sure they are here on time. Of course, if they are feeling sick, they should stay home, but attendance matters. I understand that attendance was out of our control earlier this year due to COVID, but over the next four months be mindful of your child's attendance. "Students that miss two or more days of school a month are five times more likely to fall behind in reading, writing, and math."(US Dept of Education). The school will continue to follow up on attendance-related concerns to ensure your child is here and learning every day!

Please take some time to review the upcoming Beachmont Events. The 2nd trimester will come to an end on March 11th and report cards will be emailed home on March 21st. We will then have an opportunity for Parent Conferences. This will be very similar to what we did in December. Teachers will be reaching out to families with a sign-up. As a district, we are finalizing plans for what conferences will look like(in person or over Zoom). More information will be sent out in the next two weeks about conferences.

Finally, we hope to do some school-wide community events in the nicer weather. Please be on the lookout for these events as they get scheduled.

It's a great day to be a bee!

Mr. Freisen

COVID-19 Updates and Resources

On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the Revere School Committee amended its face-covering policy. Assuming that our Covid-19 numbers continue to decline: as of March 14, 2022, face coverings (masks) will be optional in school buildings. The exceptions to this policy—where school students and staff would be required to wear a face-covering (mask)—are

  • Any person that is returning from a positive Covid-19 diagnosis after day 5 that is required to wear a face-covering (mask) for days 6-10.
  • Any person on school transportation to and from school
  • Any person visiting our school health offices (nurse’s office)

February Four Bees Celebration: "Mega Super Bowl"

Mega Super Bowl

The February Four Bees Celebration occured on February 9th. Students that participated continue to be RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, SAFE, and KIND. Mr. Norton and Mr. Dore set up a "combine" for students where they showed many football-related skills. Students also had the opportunity to participate in some "halftime Karaoke" with Mr. O'brien and performed many songs, including hits from "Encanto." Students were also able to demonstrate their artistic skills and make their own pennant with a sports-related theme in mind. Students were invited to dress up in "athletic gear." Special thanks to Ms. Cerasle-Mesina, the Four Bees Leadership Team, and the Encore Staff for making this day happen. It was a great day to be a bee!

Interview with Ms. Erika

This month we interview Ms. Erika Svendsen who is a "jack of all trades" at Beachmont. Her primary role is security, but she does so much more for the students, staff, and families at "the hive." We hope you enjoy learning a little bit more about Ms. Erika!
