Next week the State EOC Retakes will be taking place on campus. Students who are taking this exam were sent an email on the 1st from Mrs. Giles with date and time information of the testing sessions.

• Tuesday, December 6th - English I EOC Retakes
• Wednesday, December 7th - Algebra I EOC Retakes
• Thursday, December 8th - English II EOC Retakes
• Friday, December 9th - Biology & US History EOC Retakes

The TSI Assessment (TSIA) is part of the Texas Success Initiative program designed to help your college or university determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment to determine your readiness for college-level work. Based on how you perform, you may either be enrolled in a college-level course and/or be placed in the appropriate developmental course or intervention to improve your skills and prepare you for success in college-level courses.

In addition BISD has set requirements for senior off periods. One requirement is around meeting College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) status. In order to be considered for an off period your senior year, you must meet the CCMR requirement.

Beginning December 12th-14th all sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be able to take this exam. Date and time information will be emailed to students by Mrs. Giles on the 5th. If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Giles at sarah.giles@bisd.net

December 12, 2022: US History, "Press Conference" to be held Dec. 12th during 1st and 3rd periods, in the Commons/Courtyard. Students in US History have been studying and researching historical events that shaped our nation at the turn of the 20th century. Come hear all about it in the latest editions of their student developed newspapers.

December 12-13, 2022: World History "Ye Olde Book Faire" will be hosted in the New Tech library on Dec. 12th and 13th during 2nd and 6th periods. This group of students will be presenting their Middle Ages storybooks to an audience of local librarians and invited guests. Come explore and learn about the amazing kingdoms these students have been researching and telling their stories.
