A MORE PERFECT WORLD
By Judah Hilborn
A utopia is a perfect society where everyone is equal and everything is fair.
What causes a utopian society to exist? A utopian society can exist when people rebel against something they do not like about current society.
An individual does not have to be influential to play a major part in the birth of a utopia.
For example in the book Animal Farm the animals rebel against farmer Jones to create an animal utopia on the Manor Farm under the influence of a Pig named old Major. "'Is it not crystal clear, then ,comrades that all evils of this life of our spring from the tyranny of human beings ? Only get rid of man, and the produce of our labour would be our own. Almost overnight we could become rich and free.'" (Orwell 4). Old major a prize pig on Manor Farm is unhappy with man tyranny an inspire the animals to rebel against Farmer Jones.
However in The Giver Jonas a non influential figure helped restructure his dystopia into a utopia. "Downward, downward, faster and faster. Suddenly he was aware with certainty and joy that they were waiting for him, and that they were waiting, too, for the baby. For the first time he heard what he new to be music. He heard people singing. Behind him, across all distances of vast space and time, he thought he heard music too. But perhaps it was only an echo" (Lowry 179). Jonas helps his community by sharing all the memories with all the citizens even though over half of them cared.
Therefore a utopia can exist through the help of an individual influential or non influential.
Anyone can make the world a better place by doing small things to help others. If we all worked together then we can turn this broken sinful world into a utopia. All we need is your help.
