Family Fun Night

Special Thanks to all families that came out for out Fall Family Night. Even though there was impending weather for the next day and students going to remote we had a great turn out and lots of fun. Thank you to all staff that created a great game night.

If you were not able to join us we will have other events throughout the year and we would love for you to make plans to join us. Interim report pick up was Thursday evening as well.

Any interim report that was not picked up will be sent home with students on Monday.

Please review with your child and set goals to improve their current status before the

end of Quarter 1.

Measure of Academic Progress--MAP testing

Thank you for partnering with us to have your child at school for testing last week. Students were committed to doing their best so the data can drive our instructional decisions. Be on the look out for info on how your child performed. They will mark the score in their agenda and compare to what goal they set prior. These are one snapshot of performance, we will use it along with class work, formal and informal class and county assessments to inform decisions of instructional practice. If your child was absent for either Reading or Math MAP we will hold makeup's this week. EVERY CHILD EVERY DAY!!! Growth and Progress make them closer to grade level and/or beyond success. #changemaker

Culture of EXCEL-lence--DOJO reward system in ACTION--ARE YOU CONNECTED!!

We want to recognize students and classes as they exhibit SGMS EXCEL. These are being recorded in DOJO and students will be able to accumulate points to cash in at our PBIS store each quarter. We would love for every family to join DOJO so you can stay in communication with teachers, see class and school stories and events and see the points your child is accumulating and for what areas. Please go to www.classdojo.com to set up an account and connect with Southern Guilford Middle. Team newsletters provide a link or QR code to make this process simple. Reach out if you have any questions.

We are up to 315 parents which is almost 50% of our student count. Let's continue to work to connect families so that everyone can stay in the Knights Know.
