Technology In Education

Teenagers enjoy many things but now it’s all about social media, finding the easy way out, and when and what people are doing. It’s hard keeping your nose in your business when you’re

surrounded by foolishness.

Nobody knows what’s right anymore and they use technology for the wrong reason.

“There’s a lot that can be done for people who are using technology in a better way.” From

experience I’ve seen students playing games on their netbook while they should be on moodle

looking at their assignment. This causes distractions not only for them but for their peers

“We have not been able to achieve successful traction with technology in our schools/colleges

And among out students.”

Technology has not been as effective in schools due to all the non-sense on the internet. From

Twitter to facebook, kids are constantly distracted from their school work. In order for students

To be successful kids need to focus more on school work rather than the wrong things.

Technology can also be a benefit in the learning society, because it allows them to do

certain things that they aren’t capable of. “We need technology in every classroom and in every

student and teachers hand, because it’s the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through

which we experience much of our world.” That’s the same reason why every student is issued a netbook. It is helpful for us because they can learn on our own time when teachers aren’t around.

“Any teacher that can be replaced with a computer, deserves to be.” I’m not implying that

teachers are useless, but if students are learning without them then the teacher becomes.

irrelevant. Learning is a teamwork effort, the teacher has to want to teach and the student has to

want to learn.

In this generation children find it hard to do things on their own and to be creative. “New

technology is common, new thinking is rare.” People are too lazy to sit down and think of ideas

instead they google it. That’s great and all but the teacher is your primary source. “Technology is

just a tool, in terms of getting kids working and motivating them, the teacher is most important.”

Teachers work way too hard to be blown off by an electronic device. Say what you want but

technology is second when it comes to education, because there would be no point for teachers.

When learning with technology there are lots of pros and cons, but no one knows which

way is correct. Nancy Kassebaum said “There can be infinite uses of the computer and of

technology, but if teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the classroom and make it

work, then it fails.” You can’t just walk into a classroom with a computer and expect to learn.
