Short Week Bright Lights
Celebrating Red Ribbon Week
Kids wearing red and working hard
We celebrated wearing red on Wednesday as part of Red Ribbon Week to bring about awareness about a drug free life. The photos are of different grade levels with kids engaged in work, some with technology and some not. It is good to see how things are working in and around our school.
Showing off our writing in grade one
I was invited to listen to some small moments as part of a grade one celebration of writers' workshop. Over a fifteen minute period, the students read to a number of us, about their special time. The kids have learned to narrow down their writing to something like a watermelon seed-instead of trying to write about the whole watermelon. Everyone had fun reading and listening. Thanks to the volunteers who joined in the fun.
Lost and Found
The table of lost items grew quite a bit over the past few weeks. We had some fourth grade helpers lay out the items to help with seeing them better. The unclaimed pieces of clothing will be donated to a local agency for those less fortunate. We sure hope that you haven't missed something at home that is here.
Parent Conferences coming up soon and 1/2 day too.
With the end of the quarter coming up next week, the first parent teacher conferences are right around the corner. You can sign up via Skyward for the times that are most convenient for you. We hope to see you on the 6th or the 11th of November.
Remember too that there is a 1/2 day of school on Friday, October 31st.
Mike Budisch, Head Learner
I am always ready to learn and I hope we can continue to do this as a school community as well. You know that learning things together is a great way to do this too. Hope you enjoy the break from school, but not from learning.
