Welcome Committee!
The Resurrection-St. Paul School Welcoming Committee is a group of current RSPS parents who volunteer to host new families during their first year at RSPS.
There are so many exciting and wonderful things happening at RSPS that a new family cannot possibly learn about all of them without some one-on-one guidance from a current family. We hope you will join us in sharing all that makes our school so special!
Each year the Current Families are paired with New Families who have children in the same grade(s). These pairings are made over the summer and shared as soon as possible. Email addresses and phone numbers are shared between the families so they can contact each other during the summer and throughout the school year.
The Welcoming Committee Host Families should be prepared to answer routine school questions and feel comfortable in referring the new family to the proper school personnel for questions that are not routine. We would like for our host families to be open, honest, warm and welcoming. Let them know you are available to answer any questions they may have at any time during the summer or school year via phone or email. Be proactive and tell your New Family about upcoming events and details so they feel comfortable attending and feel “in the know” instead of feeling “out of the loop.”
The RSPS Welcoming Committee Coordinator will jointly introduce the Host Family to the New Family and keep in touch with Host Families and New Families periodically throughout the year. Thank You!!!

Math Placement for 2019-2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Throughout the year our goal is that all students are successful within their math course. In order to be sure this level of success is met this year and in the forthcoming year, we come together as a team to analyze each student’s progress. We use this analysis to determine their math placement for the following year.
To ensure that we look at each student progressively, we use their IOWA math scores, their CoGAT score, as well as their overall performance at their current level in conjunction with their study and work habits. The other piece of data that helps determine a student’s placement for the following year is their score on the IOWA Algebra Readiness math placement exam, which is taken at the end of each year in grades 5, 6 and 7.
After using multiple data points, we have placed your child in the course in which we believe your child will receive the learning experience most beneficial to their needs, where they will be comfortable yet challenged, and be the most successful.
Over the summer each child is expected to complete a math packet specific to their upcoming course, keeping their math skills fresh as they move into the next level. This packet was sent home with your child’s final report card. If another copy needs to be attained, this can be found by going to the Resurrection St. Paul School website. This needs to be completed and turned in to their math teacher during the first week of school.
If you have questions or concerns about your child’s math placement, please reach out to both Mrs. Klingensmith (kklingensmith@resstpaul.org) and Mrs. Rensberger (rrensberger@resstpaul.org)
Enjoy your summer and we look forward to teaching your child next year!
Sincerely,
The Math Team

HSA Executive Board Bios
President- Mandy Dishon
My name is Mandy Dishon and my family has been a part of the RSPS community since 2013. My two kiddos, Patrick and Teagan, are currently in 5th and 2nd grade. Over the past six years, I have volunteered at school in many different capacities, but nothing has compared to being on the HSA this past year. I have worked in the education field for twenty years, and have been able to use my background to contribute to the HSA in a meaningful and rewarding way. I look forward to a great year, and feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful school!
First Vice President- Maria Calvery
My name is Maria Gaydosz Calvery and my kids and I have been an active part of RSPS since 2014. My three kids, Sofia, Joey, and Will, are currently in 3rd, 1st, and PK3. I have supported the school in many areas since 2014. I'm looking forward to being more involved by joining the HSA as the Vice President. I have worked in the Business field for many years putting together training programs, company restructuring, and organizational development work. My mother was an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania for thirty years, and I loved helping her get her classroom ready every year and helping organize the classroom as well as creating documents for her. I am so thankful for finding RSPS and the amazing community that is here!
Second Vice Presidents- Niki Honza & Sarah McGee
My name is Niki Honza and my family has been a part of the RSPS family since the Spring of 2016. My children, Katelyn and Cole, are currently in 6th and 4th grade. I look forward to continuing my role as Room Parent Coordinator next year, as this experience has allowed me the opportunity to be more involved with RSPS and its wonderfully strong community.
My Name is Sarah McGee Mariman and my family has been a part of the RSPS School Community since 2013. My daughter, Eastyn is currently in the 5th grade. We have been involved with the school helping as a parent mentor in the Robotics and Girls Who Code program as well as coaching Basketball for 4 years. I have enjoyed getting to know families at RSPS through being Room Mom for the past several years as well as the Bingo Committee. I have been a Salon Owner, Manager and Hair stylist for over 15 years which has taught me about communication, leadership and management. We have loved the RSPS school community and feel very blessed to be a part of it in many different ways.
Recording/Corresponding Secretary- Delyza Howard
My name is Delyza Howard and my family has been a part of the RSPS family since 2011. My children, Leah and Gabriel, are currently in 7th grade and 4th grade. Over the past 8 years I have taken on various volunteer opportunities in our school and I am looking forward to continuing my role on our HSA as Secretary for next school year. This opportunity has allowed me to serve our school community in a different capacity than I have done so previously. I am very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community and I am looking forward to working together to see what the next school year brings.
Treasurer- Katie Huber
My name is Katie Huber and my family joined the RSPS community in the fall of 2014. I have three children, Caroline 7th grade, Antonia 5th grade, and Teddy 1st grade. I began my professional career in advertising and moved into publishing and radio; since having children my career twisted a bit and I am now a yoga instructor. As a parent at RSPS, I have served on many committees and activities including: room parent, 5K committee and assisting Mrs. Keys in the media center. I also had the honor to present a breakout session at the middle school Mental Health Awareness assembly last January. I hope to continue to give back to the RSPS community and look forward to serving as the treasurer of the HSA in the 2019-20 school year.
St. Paul’s Church Liaison- Michael Mayforth
My name is Michael Mayforth. My family relocated back to the Baltimore area last year and my two kids (Drew- PK3 and Samantha- Kindergarten) are finishing up their first year at RSPS. I'm looking forward to increasing my engagement with St Paul's church, RSPS and the community as a whole.
Resurrection Church Liaison- Kersten Reyes
My name is Kersten Reyes and I have been a parishioner at Church of the Resurrection since 2004 and a parent of 3 children at the school since 2010. I am a PT specializing in working with patients with neurological diagnosis and I work at the University of Maryland Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Institute full time. I have volunteered in various roles at RSPS over the last 9 years. I am active in the parish and in the ACTS ministry at the parish. My favorite volunteer opportunities at RSPS are those that involve working directly with the students. I have a recent 8th grade graduate and a rising 7th and 3rd grader. RSPS and the Church of the Resurrection has been such a blessing in the lives of my family and I look forward to giving back to a school community that has given my family so much over the years.
