SUMMER: A Time to Reflect
Summer break is around the corner and this is a perfect time to reflect on what you have accomplished and setting goals for next year! Walt Disney once said ‘you can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful idea in the world, but it requires people to make the dream reality. This is certainly the case as being part of the Blended Region. The reality is that the learning experiences that have taken place this year in and out of the classroom could not have happened without a great deal of commitment and support from each school. One of the most critical factors of any successful school is the staff! Thank you for your commitment, dedication, and positive attitude this school year. The Blended Team will continue to work diligently to support everyone at the school. Have a wonderful summer and looking forward to SY1617!
End of the Year Announcements
The Scantron and i-Ready Spring Assessment testing window is coming to a close on June 15th. The region's goal is to have 90% of the students tested. A school growth analysis will be provided by the end of June. Everyone's assistance is needed! Some schools are counting the assessments as a course assignment and also providing incentives to students. If assistance is needed, please contact the blended team. Good Luck!
Teacher Grant:
ASCD Teacher Impact Grants (TIGs) provide funding and support directly to teachers for promising teacher-led, administrator-supported ideas, programs, or initiatives to improve education. These grants allow teachers to develop and execute projects that can serve as models to be replicated and scaled. Teachers could be given up to $10,000!! The application deadline is June 16, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. eastern time. Click on the link for more information and to access the application.

NPCS Developing International Partnerships
Mr. Henry McNair, the Assistant HOS of NPCS, has been in contact with educators from Korea. Recently the Korean educators toured NPCS as they are interested to incorporate a blended model in their secondary schools. Mr. McNair is also working on developing skpe classes for students and possibly a teacher learning exchange for SY1617. How exciting for everyone at NPCS!
