September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
If you are concerned that someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, it's time to talk with them. We know it can feel scary, which is why we have written a step-by-step guide to having the conversation and getting them help.Telling someone you are having thoughts about suicide is a brave act, and it can be difficult to do. Sharing your feelings is important, though, because it is the first step toward finding help. Learn How to Tell Someone You Are Thinking About Suicide, and find more resources for staying safe in How to Manage Suicidal Thoughts and How to Create a Suicide Safety Plan.
Sept. 13: New PBS Documentary Facing Suicide premiers. A new documentary explores the stories of Americans impacted by suicide, and journeys to the frontlines of medical and scientific research to meet those who are working to help people at risk.
