Dear Families,

Recently we shared information with you regarding an exciting grant awarded to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Sycamore Community Schools as a part of Governor Dewine’s K-12 Prevention Education Initiative. We have started the engagement process with the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s Adapt for Life team, we are in need of your feedback to assist our student, staff, and family planning. Completing this anonymous 5 question survey will inform our process and assist us in developing strong programming for our future.

In April, we anticipate hosting virtual parent information sessions about the Adapt for Life program and our grant partnership. We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks and months.

All Course Adjustment Request Forms (CAR) are due no later than April 9th. CAR forms can be found on our website at https://www.sycamoreschools.org/Page/2595. CAR forms are required when a student is requesting to enroll in an Honors level course that he/she was not originally recommended.

AVES DAY AT THE RACES

The biggest and only fundraiser for the Jr. High PTO is right around the corner - May 1. Registration for the race is open now.

Sign-Up and support the Jr. High PTO and the Sycamore Athletic Boosters. The money we raise will come right back to impact our students at the Jr. High. It is the funding that supports PTO Programs such as Eighth Grade Day, Staff Appreciation, and more. It helps fund clubs, extracurricular activities, and sports. Did you know that it is because the sizable donation from the Sycamore Athletic Boosters that the Jr. High is able to support two teams, green and gold, for sports like basketball and volleyball? Besides we all need something fun to do and to put on our calendar this spring!

• Derby Dash - Virtual 2K/5K Run. Registrants will receive a race t-shirt and are entered into a raffle to win one of four gift cards to Kenwood Towne Centre! Register by April 21 to receive your shirt before May 1.
• Virtual Silent Auction - Opening April 9 - Check out and bid on exciting baskets and donations from area businesses, Jr. High clubs and sports teams, and HS Sports Teams.

Looking for something fun to do this April? How about intramural golf? This club is for beginning students who would like to learn basic golf skills, gain knowledge and confidence, and get some practice to be able to play this awesome lifetime activity. In Ohio, the following vaccines are required by law:

7th-grade students must show proof that they have received (1) dose of Tdap, and (1) dose of MCV4 . This requirement must be met NO LATER THAN THE 14th day of attendance at school for the 2020-21 school year.

When will students take the AIR assessments?

Sycamore Junior High will administer the AIR assessments on April 14, 15, 21, 22 and 29.
