What Did We Learn This Week?

Language Arts

This week we learned about present tense verbs in grammar. Also, we began writing our rough drafts about our present life in 2nd grade! The story we read this week is called What Kind of Babysitter is This?. We had a great time creating a Wanted poster for a certain type of babysitter!

In math, we reviewed converting time and then practiced elapsed time. This was a hard concept, but it was just an introduction to the concept. Then, we moved on to reviewing how to read a calendar and had a little practice with timelines.

We had fun reviewing this week all of our simple machines. We completed a couple study guides/review sheets that are in your child's Science folder. I sent these home to practice studying this weekend. We will also do a lot of review in class next week. The test will be on Thursday, February 25th. I will have a tutorial on Tuesday from 3:20-3:45 or the end of carpool. Please email me if your child will be staying for tutorial.

The highlight of our week was going to the idea lab to build simple machines using Legos!

Dear 2nd grade parents,

The 2nd graders are working diligently on completing the work for the lettersץ ,צ (TZADEE and final TZADEE).
