The Lion's Roar

June 2021

Congratulations to the Class of 2021! It was a beautiful night for these amazing students. We will miss this very kind and fun senior class who even on their final night at LHS continued to demonstrate character by encouraging each of their classmates as they spoke and sang. All of our speakers spoke from the heart and really brought their messages home.

Class of 2021: You brought your strength and perseverance to this school year. There is no obstacle too big for you to get around. You got this and don't let anyone stand in your way from achieving your dreams and goals. You are worth it and never, ever doubt that! Go for it! #LindenwoldLionCourage #GoLions #LWLionsPride

Wilber will be attending Drexel University in the fall. We wish him the best of luck next year as he pursues a degree in engineering! Wilber has been involved in athletics throughout his high school career, served as a Student BOE Member, and he was awarded the Colonial Conference Scholastic Athlete Award. The District is extremely proud of all he has accomplished, and will miss him very much. Best of luck next year!

Sanaiyah will be attending Rutgers - Camden in the fall. She is another amazing student who was involved in the Lady Lions Basketball team as a manager and participated in Photography Club. Her creative eye supported LHS by photographing events for the LHS social media pages as well as the yearbook. She also created a website to showcase her passion for photography by creating "The Camden that Nobody Sees." The District is very proud of her for all of her hard throughout her high school career. Best of luck next year!

The District would like to thank LabQ for supporting our efforts to ensure our students were able to safely attend the Prom and their Senior Trip. Students participated in COVID testing prior to both events in order to add an extra layer of protection when congregating outdoors at the Park and dancing the night away at the Prom. THANK YOU!

The District would also like to thank Mr. Jeff Flood-Orion and Mrs. Allyson Chiaccio, Senior Class Advisors, for the wonderful job they did not only supporting our seniors during this difficult time but also for planning an outstanding senior trip! The "sweetest place on earth" is a wonderful place to celebrate such a challenging year! Well done!!!!!!!

The District would like to thank Jennifer Hitchner and Eric Oleson, Junior Class Advisors, along with the Junior Class, for doing an OUTSTANDING job planning this year's Prom. What a wonderful night and the students most definitely had a great time. Everyone looked beautiful and very handsome as they danced the night away!

Congratulations our final 2021 Students of the Month! Each of these students were recognized during the June 14, 2021 Board of Education Meeting.

Congratulations to our High School Nurse: Mrs. Jennifer Griffith

We would like to give a HUGE shout out of thanks to the entire Food Service Department, with a special mention to our Food Service Director, Jennifer Dina. In addition, thank you to all of the facility department folks and employee volunteers that raised their hands and worked hard to make sure all children that needed a meal this year were cared for. You should all be so PROUD of your efforts and hard work (and we know it was not always easy!!). This past year brought incredible hurdles but also a lot of really amazing efforts to highlight and appreciate, this being one for sure!

The High School Thoughtful and Respectful Schools Committee recognized all of the PAWsitively PURRfect high school students throughout the 2020 - 2021 school year with an end of the year visit from Mr. Softie. Congratulations to these amazingly kind, respectful, and hardworking students.

June PAWsitively Winners 2021!

The End of the Year Lion's Pride Students were honored with a special lunch option on Friday, June 11th. Our honorees were: 3rd marking period Honor Roll Students, Students of the Month, and our Senior Mentors! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Great job Sharonne Ravid-Litz and Kathryn Moore!

The Center for Family Services, through a grant called "Hope and Healing," arranged for bilingual speakers to visit our students to discuss self-care and coping strategies for stress. Our students created " Safety Scarves" in which they were encouraged to draw and think about things that bring them joy and are important to them. This scarf was to represent security when they are stressed. We are so proud of our LMS Lindenwold Staff for focusing on academics as well as the whole child!
